Laura Mercier Translucent Powder Review. Worth the Hype?

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder Review, Zoe's Beauty Blog

The Laura Mercier Translucent Powder first caught my attention when I saw it being continuously raved about on beauty vloggers channels such as Jaclyn Hill and Manny Mua. Even though all I heard was good things I still couldn't help but think about the £29 price tag attached to a translucent powder.  So I thought I'd put it to the test and see if it was worth the hype.

Lets start with how it looks/feels on the skin. I apply it with my Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder brush. Despite dusting this generously all over my skin, it is practically invisible. It meshes seamlessly with the skin and gives a almost blurred/perfected look. I've never had the issue of it looking chalky or cakey at all, even when I have purposely applied more than necessary. It feels super lightweight on the skin too making it really comfortable to wear.

The main reason I got this powder was I heard it was great for keeping the skin shine-free, without looking heavy or completely flat. I have oily skin but like a glowy look, so I wanted a powder to stop me crossing the fine line between glowy and shiny. This powder does that. It definitely makes a difference in how shiny my skin gets throughout the day. Does it keep me completely matte and shine free? No. Do I want it to keep me completely matte and shine free? No. I have found my skin is no where near as shiny as it would be by the end of the day if I was wearing a different powder but it still looks healthy and radiant. If you wear to use a matte foundation and set it with this, then I'd say you'd be pretty certain to stay matte all day. I just like that it controls oils slightly and just gives a good balance.

It wears wonderfully throughout the day. It doesn't go patchy or oxidize at all. It keeps my makeup set in place really well and like I mentioned earlier, keeps my skin looking glowy but not shiny. I honestly did not think I would see this much of a difference from a simple translucent powder but I am honestly really impressed. I mean, I am sure you could find a cheaper alternative out there somewhere but until then, I am more than happy with the Laura Mercier powder and am glad I have found something that works as well as it does.

Have you tried the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder? Or have you found a more affordable dupe? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading.
